2019 Joy Journal

October 30, 2019 It is a pretty morning. Mild temperature. Little breeze. Bella is on her pillow. Bentley was out here for a while, but has gone back to his bed in the house. My house is straight, lunch is ready, laundry is rolling. I'm on the verge of being done with the washing and drying part.  Shawn was here yesterday and looked good. He's going to let us know when it would be a good time for him and Ashlon to have supper with us.  Heard from Brittany this morning. She said she was sorry she hadn't responded Monday, that she'd been sick and really busy at work. It was fun that she remembered me, and I know how those days can go. Heard from Kennedy. She said that she might be coming over today. She's supposed to go graduation dress shopping with Angela because Angela and Morgan are going to take her graduation pictures.  Barry fixed the hall toilet yesterday, and said, "I think I set a world record today." August 14, 2019 Got to text visit with Brittany last night. She was in Jackson, Mississippi where her company sent her to get some training on scour and learn counter measures and how to predict it.  FB chatted with Annette a little bit this morning. Heard from Kennedy --- she'd just gotten off work and was about to head to Tampa. She got there late last night. She and Angela and Tori fly out for California tonight.  Little visit with Morgan. I walked again this morning, so I'm happy about that. I cut back on my eating some yesterday --- I didn't cut it in half, but I didn't eat any more ice cream, and I had carrots with my lunch time sandwich. I'm almost done with the laundry --- at least the part that has to be done for me to be able to pack. I switched up a little because it is easy to do the linens when I drive in from Firefly in the mornings.  I made fairly good progress with Wonderland yesterday. Got to talk to Daddy yesterday morning. 

March 15, 2019 We have plans to have supper with Zak and Vivian at Quickley's next Thursday. :-)  Bertice said that she is so glad that I am in her corner. Got to talk to Daddy. He seems to be on-track for healing.  "Noah ended up doing one of this trick things where he gets the ball onto his back and kicks it up, so that was fun to watch it play out in a game." Barry offered to take me to the restaurant that is where Hungry Owl used to be, instead of going to get sushi.

Beverly called. She only had seven minutes, but she called. Daddy called. He had gotten my email, and thanked me for the pictures. Vivian sent a text to see if Papa and I would like to meet her and Zak at Quickly's for dinner.  Kennedy drove over last night so we got to see her. She and Barry are going to her new apartment this morning, and she is supposed to get to sign the lease.  I heard from Skyler yesterday. She was watching a school soccer match at the same time I was, only I was watching Noah play, and she was somewhere else. Noah was team captain, and he scored.

February 22, 2019 I'm just so happy today! Angela and Tori have a trip planned home for the first weekend in March and Beth is coming home the third weekend. We'll have Second Sunday Supper the second weekend, so there should be lots more family time than we've had in January and February.  Had some voice visits yesterday with Beverly, Angela and Tori, and Beth, so my heart is much happier.  Got to talk to Daddy. He won't know for sure what is wrong with his Achilles tendon until he has an MRI and follow up doctors appointment next week. But we laughed together, and he told me about a note that they'd gotten from Kennedy that made them very happy.  Kennedy and Barry are going to Pensacon today. Beverly said it is all Kennedy has been able to talk about. Vivian and Zak are in Denmark and having a good time. Viv posted a video with her laughing in it and Morgan said she'd had turned the volume up and listened to it again, just to hear Vivian's laugh....

February 15, 2019 Someone left some flowers on my door, but no one has said who it was. They are very pretty! Had a little text visit with Brittany. She posted about a man at their church who had passed away, and how strong the woman's faith must be, visible in her reaction. I sent her a message and told her about what Grandmother, the night of Granddad's funeral, removing her earrings and saying, "I'm going to go to sleep and thank God for all the good years that we had together."  Heard from Beverly. She is safe from the flooding that is near her. Tori and Angela called, and so we got to visit for a minute. It was fun to hear their voices.  Beverly told me that Tori had gotten a promotion, so Tor and I talked about that. She is a Technical Architect. "Someone who takes the requirements and designs what needs to happen in the code to make it work." A developer implements the design. She said now she will be doing architecture and development. S...
