2019 Joy Journal

I don't have to try to rearrange the meeting. Heard from Evan. He said that he has come to walk the mall with Jaden a couple of times in the early morning.  Heard from Brittany.  She said she and Jon Marc will come see Firefly soon. Angela and Tori came to D'Michael's before they left, so we got to visit and laugh.

March 25, 2019 I got out in the yard yesterday and attacked some of the things that were hurting my eyes. It was a beautiful day and I was happy to be out in it. Bella and Bentley gave me some loves and that was fun.  They finished the concrete at Firefly on Saturday, so the last of the construction and the contractors and their empty water bottles and tools is gone --- except for Perry's rope on the pier. But, mostly gone. The Other People Energy is gone.  I just kept getting glimpses in my mind of how pretty it is.  Angela and Tori and Kennedy were here Saturday afternoon / evening. They had some fun looking through their things in the household storage trailer and getting some things to take to Kennedy's apartment. They went to WalMart and found everything they needed and then went to Pensacola to get it all set up. March 22, 2019 Annette sent me a good morning text message. We had a fun supper with Zak and Vivian at Quickly's last night. We got to hear about their trip. Vivian may get a shift change at WalMart, so she'll be able to be at Second Sunday Supper again. She's applied for a WalMart scholarship, and it would be really awesome if she got it.  Heard from Skyler. Heard from Andrew. Got to have a nice phone visit with Beverly. She had expected to work yesterday, but they called her and told her they don't usually schedule people on their last day, so she didn't have to work after all.  Heard from Angela. She and Tori are driving in this weekend. They're going to come over here with Kennedy and pick out some things for her new apartment. Heard from Tori. She is looking forward to being able to swim. March 21, 2019 The meeting with Linda and Elaine went well.  Angela sent me a text first thing this morning!  Heard from Kennedy yesterday.

March 19, 2019 This morning went smoothly. The house was straight --- bedroom, kitchen, family room --- and laundry started by 7:12--- plus, I'd had my breakfast. Things feel peaceful and organized. And the full moon was hanging low in the western sky when I got up at a little after five o'clock. We talked to Kennedy last night. She was happy. Her project ideas had been well received and she'd been to her new apartment to dust and rearrange and put some of her dishes away.  Heard from Brittany. She said that she and Annette had recovered from their race day and were back in the gym yesterday.  Took Tyler to his class. He said that he thinks it is cool that when he posts a Snapchat story, Skyler is always around the third to like it. Heard from Faith. She's working another seven days straight. 

March 13, 2018 We got Kennedy started in her new apartment yesterday. Chris came over with Wylder and helped get us loaded and unloaded. Beverly said that Kennedy seemed very happy --- talked about Barry offering her things to hang on the walls, etc.  Kennedy was taking care of Wylder, so I told Chris to set her desk up under the window, and her desk chair right in front of it. When she walked in the room and saw that, she looked back over her shoulder at me with just the happiest, most comforted smile.  Wylder smiled and hugged, and did his best to use Papa's car keys to unlock the storage compartment on the side of the SeeMore.  Annette won the Gold in her division in her Spartan race Saturday.  Barry and I went to Pensacola on Saturday to judge in their BBQ Competition. 

March 15, 2019 We have plans to have supper with Zak and Vivian at Quickley's next Thursday. :-)  Bertice said that she is so glad that I am in her corner. Got to talk to Daddy. He seems to be on-track for healing.  "Noah ended up doing one of this trick things where he gets the ball onto his back and kicks it up, so that was fun to watch it play out in a game." Barry offered to take me to the restaurant that is where Hungry Owl used to be, instead of going to get sushi.

Beverly called. She only had seven minutes, but she called. Daddy called. He had gotten my email, and thanked me for the pictures. Vivian sent a text to see if Papa and I would like to meet her and Zak at Quickly's for dinner.  Kennedy drove over last night so we got to see her. She and Barry are going to her new apartment this morning, and she is supposed to get to sign the lease.  I heard from Skyler yesterday. She was watching a school soccer match at the same time I was, only I was watching Noah play, and she was somewhere else. Noah was team captain, and he scored.

We get closer and closer to Firefly being finished. The tennis tournament committee meeting went well. It ran lost not lost long. But we've got some solutions. Lunch was a little awkward pregnant bad. Not pregnant bad. Just not bad. Candidate will get the key to her new apartment tomorrow. I got to see Beth this morning because I took her to the airport. She had a good dinner with Zach and Vivian. I asked her if they had much to say about their trip, she said they did. She said Zack was really cute remembering all the details about the trip and telling her about it in order. Vivian asked him if he had told Beth about something and he said that comes later. Zach love Denmark. I'm going to watch Noah's soccer game today. Chelsea did take Jaden to his appointment. They will be mailing her some information.

March 12, 2019 Just having a good morning. We ate leftovers for dinner last night, so there wasn't any need to run the dishwasher last night, or to unload it this morning. It didn't take long to straighten the bedroom, fold the towels, get my blanket out of the family room----all neat, ready to go and behind me. In the writing shack at 7:52. I should be able to get in a walk, and the afternoon feels doable.  Angela and Tori made it back to Tampa safely, and Kennedy made it back to Pensacola. Ange's experience at the vet didn't go well, and we couldn't get Bentley interested in marking any of the spots in the back yard. There was a lot of love and laughter surrounding the effort though --- Tori and Kennedy carrying water, trying to lure Bentley to interesting spots, Ange  doing the same while toting the plastic container to catch the sample. March 11, 2019 Second Sunday Supper was a lot of fun, and this morning is going well.  Heard from Andrew --- text --- really busy at work. Brittany called me in to the bedroom for a minute and Jon Marc jumped  up from the dining room table and said, "Wait a minute!" Brittany handed me a gift bag, saying "We went into a gift shop, and I saw this first thing, and said, 'I have to have this for Grannie." A turtle-shaped coffee cup that says "I turtilly love you!" So sweet.  She called me the other day --- said she'd started to send a text but then thought, "I haven't talked to Grannie for a while. I just want to hear her voice."  Skyler drove herself to school for the first time today, in her new car. Annette talked about taking Skyler with her to get the oil changed, and letting her be the one to have the conversation with the people there. They've opened a checking account for her, too. March 8, 2019 Tyler gave me an extra hug yesterday. I'm not sure Wylder recognized me, but he wasn't afraid of me. He walked up to me and wanted me to pick him up. :-)  Tori said they were going to go see the Captain Marvel movie.  Kennedy said she's gotten the power turned on in her new apartment! Morgan assures me that Davis hasn't forgotten me. Zak and Vivian are on their way home! I get to spend the early afternoon with Beth. 

Beverly called last night and we got to have a nice visit. She had some good conversations with a doctor that she'd like to work for. She knows that she wants to work in women's health.  Heard from Angela and Tori. They are looking forward to their trip home.  Beth said she isn't sure yet if she'll be leaving before Second Sunday Supper, so maybe we're going to get a little more of a visit in. Enjoyed my walk with Bertice yesterday. 

Just had the best walk with Bertice. The time just flies by as we walk and talk.  It is a beautifully sunny day -- cold, but sunny.  Heard from Annette. She and Skyler will be at Second Sunday Supper.  Morgan wrote a blog this morning. I complimented her writing. She thanked me and said, "Maybe it runs in the family." ;-) 

Got off to a good start this morning.  Talked to Kennedy last night. A part she needed for her project was delivered to the wrong mail box --- she put notes out around her apartment complex like she was looking for a lost puppy --- and "someone was kind enough on a Sunday night to go and check their mailbox, and they had it," so she was up until 3:30 or 4:00 finishing it. Went to bed for a couple of hours. Overslept, but still made it to her class on time, where the project was well received. She got last minute notice about another project, but pulled it off, too, and everyone supported the changes she'd made. A triumphant, but exhausting, day. Beth called. Her scans show scarring in both lungs, so they'll recheck in three months to see if there have been any changes. Relieved that no urgent, bad news today. She said, "Something worse happened, though." March 4, 2019 The house is straight, and easily so. The weekend chores are done, and I put some extra Wonderland time in, and so made some project progress there.  Barry and I spent some time at Firefly. The deck is almost finished. We spent some time together in the greenhouse, planting seeds.  I got to talk to Beverly a little bit on Saturday.  Evan, Chelsea, Jaden and James were over for a few minutes Friday night. Jaden smiled at me and wanted to play chase.  I got a text from Andrew. We got to talk to Angela and Tori for a few minutes early Friday evening. They both seemed pretty happy. Angela said that she works alone on Fridays and so is usually behind all day long, but this Friday had been easier. Tori had told me she was in meetings and so I asked her if that meant she was telling people what to do. She laughed and said that she was coordinating with more people.  Morgan posted some pictures of Mardi Gras, and a videos of Davis laughing and rolling from his back
